SCHOOL RULES:
- The first bell is a signal for the students to go for the assembly. As soon as they are back to their classes, the students should get their books ready for the first period.
- English is encouraged to be spoken in the school premises to acquire greater ease in the study of the language and use it as a medium to comprehend other subjects easily. Every student must take pride in conversing in English. Any pupil found conversing in any other vernacular will be subject to face disciplinary actions.
- Visiting of wash rooms should be restricted to the cause, any habitual moment from the class after every interval should not be practiced.
- Refinement in manners, habits of obedience, order, and neatness in dress and above all punctuality are required at all times.
- Celebration of any special days like birthdays should be treated as a simple affair. Student of KG section is permitted to wear color dress, strictly formal one which aligns with the school decorum. Student may distribute simple chocolates to their classmates, if they so desire. No cutting of cakes/distribution of sweets or gifts are permitted, any violation will be considered to be a willful violation and will be dealt with strictly.
- Care must be taken of all school property. Student must own the school property by not resorting to practices that spoil and tarnish the image of being Skylark Students. Any damage caused by a student, a fine will be imposed for the offence.
- Students allotted with responsibilities like members of school cabinet should be a role model in their overall behavior and wear their respective badges daily.
- Irregular attendance, disobedience or defiance of authority, lack of sufficient improvement in studies and conduct even after several warnings, misconduct and malpractice/misconduct/violation of rules in examination are sufficient reasons for dismissal of a student.
- A written apology will be demanded by the school authorities for the willful breach of discipline both from the pupil as well as parent as a pre-requisite.
- Children should not bring any valuable articles like expensive watch, jewelry etc to school, any violation to this will be subject to disciplinary action decided by the school Discipline committee. In case of any loss of articles, the school shall not undertake any responsibility for the loss.
- Mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the school. Students if caught with the cell phones, will have to face strict disciplinary action including suspension and fine.
- Being a co-education school, it is expected that students behave in a manner which brings a good name to school community.
- As Skylark Students, shouting or whistling is certainly not a desirable practice, within or outside the campus.
- Students are advised to keep the class room and campus neat and clean. They must take care to throw the waste materials into the dustbin.
- Bringing fireworks/explosives or splashing color/mobiles/iPods/pen drives/CDs etc in school premise is strictly forbidden. Non-compliance of this instruction can result in expulsion from the school.
- No books, magazines, periodicals, etc, other than the prescribed syllabus, should be brought to school.
- The school has bus transport available for its students. The students who come to school by their own transport should arrive at school before the warning bell.
- Students need to take pride in wearing the school uniform as and when they are in the campus.
- The school reserves the right to add, alter and cancel any rule given in this diary at any time at its discretion which will be binding to student and their parents/guardians.
School Reform Policy
Serious offences which reflect adversely on a student's conduct e.g. disobedience, telling lies, bunking school, bunking class, bullying, fighting willfully, damaging school property will lead to severe disciplinary action by the school authorities. The student will be counselled for the first offence, warned in writing for the second offence and issued a yellow card if the offence is repeated for the third time.
Yellow Card:
A student will be issued a yellow card for missing classes, reporting late to the class, constantly disturbing the teaching process and indulging in rude and unacceptable behaviour in class. The student will report to the class teacher for detention during break. Issue of three yellow cards will lead to the award of a red card.
The award of three red cards will lead to expulsion of the offender from the school on disciplinary grounds.
Red Card:
A red card holder will not be allowed to avail any privilege in the school, during the period stipulated on the card. The student will not be allowed to attend any programme, picnic or outings.
The student will report to the respective class teacher during break time for detention. The class teacher will also ensure that the student report to the library during P.E., Computer and activity periods. The student will be asked to sit in the detention corner, supervised by the library staff during these periods. The librarian will maintain a detention register.
BOYS:
- Clean shaven and no facial hair is allowed.
- Side of hair should not touch ears.
- No long sideburns.
- Hair at the back of head should not touch collar.
- No ‘tails” or dyed hair.
- Hairstyles should be neat, tidy and simply styled.
- Fringe should not touch eyebrows.
- Wearing gold/silver ornaments is not advisable
GIRLS:
- Long and/or shoulder length hair must be tied with black or dark blue hair accessories.
- Only 1 pair of small and simple ear stud is allowed to be worn.
- Hairstyles should be neat, tidy and simply styled.
- Fringe should not touch eyebrows.
- The length of the girls’ pinafore should be at/below the kneecap.
- Wearing gold/silver ornaments is not advisable.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE AND ATTIRE:
- Always maintain a high level of personal hygine.
- Wear the complete school uniform / P.E. (Physical Education) attire when reporting to school, even during school holidays, for extra lessons/CCA/remedial/supplementary/enrichment lessons
- No tattoos or cosmetics are allowed.
- Fingernails should be kept short and clean. No nail polish or strengthener is to be applied of fingernails.
- The length of the girls’ pinafore should be at/below the kneecap.
- Wearing gold/silver ornaments is not advisable.
ITEMS NOT TO BE BROUGHT TO SCHOOL:
- Electronic devices: radios, compact disc players, hand-held computer games, electronic/video games and MP3 players, mobiles phones.
- Shewing gum-not to be consumed or sold to others.
- sharp object such as pen knives and metal rulers.
- Playing cards, trading cards and toys.
- Correction fluid.
- Any other items that will disrupt the learning process.
ADMISSION:
- The age of admission, corresponding scale of age is fixed for subsequent classes.
- Date of registration and date of entrance test will be told or displayed on the school.
- Admission will be given on merit and good performance in the previous classes.
- 3 or 3+ is the age of admission to nursery
- 4 or 4+ for LKG
- 5 or 5+ for UKG
- 6 or 6+ for class 1
WITHDRAWAL:
- Transfer certificate will be issued on written application served 7 days in advance by the parents/ guardian.
- T.C. will be issued only after the clearance of all the dues. A fee of 100/- will be charged for the transfer certificate.
- Irregular attendance, lack of application in studies, unjustified long absence or objectionable moral behavior, disobedience or any serious misbehavior even outside the school are sufficient reason for the dismissal of the candidates.
